Resort below Austria's highest mountain

Heiligenblut is a different kind of place than compact children's areas. It lies below Grossglockner, and the whole resort has a pronounced high-mountain character. The resort's official profile states 55 km of pistes and 11 lifts and tows.

Loko view: Heiligenblut is more about space, elevation, and the experience of a big mountain. For younger children, it needs to be used thoughtfully; for older groups, it can be very valuable.

Natural snow and open terrain

The resort offers natural snow, varied runs, and open space alongside groomed slopes. That is an advantage for skiers who are already ready for a bigger mountain, changing snow, and a longer day on the slopes.

For the club, this means training here does not have to be only about gates. Just as valuable is technique in natural terrain, working with speed, adapting to different snow, and the ability to read the slope.

Who Heiligenblut makes the most sense for

We see it as best suited for older or more confident groups. Smaller children need shorter, clear, and easier-to-manage terrain. Heiligenblut is more of a place where children and Teens gradually gain experience with a big Alpine mountain.

It is not just about the number of kilometers. What matters is that the group can operate safely, keep pace, and handle a longer program on the terrain.

In practice

Operation depends on snow conditions, and when planning we follow the current open runs, lifts, and weather. The high-mountain character is an advantage, but also a factor: wind, visibility, and changes in the snow can affect the program quickly.

If conditions are good, Heiligenblut offers exactly what smaller resorts do not: a large area, significant elevation gain, and views of Grossglockner.
